All Net Connect and Hudu

Hudu is new to our suite of Managed IT Services for businesses in the Black Hills region. Its purpose is to organize, simplify, and streamline all your IT data and processes.

Hudu is an online IT documentation platform. Enterprise-level organizations throughout the world use it, and All Net Connect can make it useful and affordable for almost any size business. The concept is simple. Hudu stores up-to-date data about your IT infrastructure in a secure location that’s easily accessible. That improves planning, maintenance scheduling, troubleshooting and responses to IT problems.

Hudu’s top-down structure, combined with its bottom-up documentation process, also will help your IT professionals from All Net Connect respond even faster when you need assistance.

The bottom-line benefit is peace of mind. And as a Managed IT Service customer, you won’t pay extra for a Hudu subscription. That’s on us. There could be a small charge if you choose to further customize your IT data. An All Net partner will explain that process and more.

Hudu documentation benefits

  • Centralized documentation It’s the key to Hudu: simplify! Having all your IT data updated and collected into a central, secure, organized, and accessible location will have a ripple effect on your entire system. Martha Stewart would call it “a good thing.” Marie Kondo would say it “brings joy.” We think it’s all that.
  • Consistency: The second most important benefit. Hudu has a standardized process for collecting and storing IT data. That reduces the opportunities to misplace or omit information.
  • Scalability: When IT data is documented in useful formats, it’s easier to plan changes or expansions of your IT infrastructure as your business changes or grows.
  • Security and access control: A custom portal gives you encrypted access to Hudu. And you control who sees what and who edits what.
  • Custom knowledge bases: These can include step-by-step guides for your own unique standard operating procedures.

We’re always looking for ways to make IT work better for businesses like yours. And in the wide-open spaces of western South Dakota and eastern Wyoming, we all rely on remote IT services. Hudu enhances remote service, and it streamlines almost every aspect of our IT Managed Service.

How Hudu Works

Documentation templates: These are the framework for organizing IT data. Hudu templates can be customized to fit your business. That might include asset layouts (see below), step-by-step SOP guides, or other process. Hudu templates create consistent, readable formats that make it easier to review your IT infrastructure.

Asset layouts: If Hudu is a filing cabinet, “asset layouts” are file folders about specific elements of your infrastructure. Examples could include “Servers,” “Workstations,” “Printers,” “Routers,” or “Peripherals.” They might include “Clients,” “Vendors,” “Staff,” “Training” or even “SOPs.” Asset layouts are customized for your business.

Asset tracking: This is the next step. It’s good to know what you own, where it is, and who has it. But there’s more. Asset tracking helps you plan. For example, you’ll have quick access to purchase dates warranty status, and lifespans of equipment and software. Do you still need that device? Is it outdated? Has it become a security risk? Hudu helps answer those questions.

What Hudu stores: It’s a long list that includes serial numbers, licenses, IP addresses, cloud and service data. It includes data about servers, workstations, laptops, routers, printers, phones, software, and peripherals. Hudu can store data about email systems, credentials, and backup procedures. The key phrase is “…and more.” If it’s IT data, Hudu can store it.

IT overviews: Hudu doesn’t just store data. Network diagrams illustrate how data and processes are connected to each other—which device is connected to which switch, what firewall protects what system, etc. It’s all visible at a glance. High-level views can help with budgeting, planning, and troubleshooting.

Integration with RMM: That stands for Remote Monitoring and Management. RMM already is part of our Managed IT Service. RMM allows All Net Connect professionals to remotely monitor security, network performance, updates, and other parameters. It’s all about being proactive. Hudu works together with RMM systems so your IT technicians can respond even faster to IT issues.
