Cable Management

We have run cables up and down ski slopes, across mining sites and through hospitals. We’ve done it through hotels, casinos, banks, and city halls. We’ve installed cables where dust was thick, heat was extreme, water was a challenge, and historic preservation was required. How robust is your network? Do cables at your server racks look like plates of spaghetti?  We know cables, and we love a challenge.

Cabling’s first rule is organization. Labels and color coding make your system easier to inspect, maintain, and repair. So does the proper infrastructure. That includes patch panels, raceways, cable rings, cable enclosures, and cable ties. Lots of cable ties.

Before installing cables, All Net techs will identify and protect against potential hazards—water, heat, dust, chemicals, moving equipment, and traffic (vehicles and people). We’ll determine the correct locations for wireless access points, where cables connect to Wi-Fi networks.

Preventive measures also reduce downtime. We can create cable inventories and up-to-date network diagrams of your system. We can create a schedule for inspections, maintenance, repairs, and (eventually) replacement. Up-front, proactive steps can save you money.

Our cable management services

Cable maintenance: Visual inspections and testing are the first steps. We have the testing tools, and we know what to look for. That includes checking cable types, cable lengths, bend angles, and connections. We look for exposure to dirt, moisture, heat, chemicals, poor ventilation, and signs of wear and tear.  Cleaning and proactive replacement of worn cables will prevent or reduce downtime and save you money.

Cable types: Copper ethernet cables send data by electrical signals. Fiberoptic cables send data by light, through glass fibers. As a general rule (but not always), fiberoptics are faster. They’re also immune to electrical, and they can be more efficient over longer distances. Copper ethernet cables are less expensive, and they’re plenty fast for most business applications. All Net techs know what cables to recommend, and they can install both kinds.
